SHINE BELOW IN YELLOW
We are grateful for the following organizations, institutions, and businesses who have taken mini or mega steps to support the Quinte Cultural Innovation Committee (QCIC) forward in meaningful ways.
TD Bank Group stepped up as the first financial institution to step up with mini action. We love that they were welcoming of the idea of being our silent title sponsor of QCIC's collaborative presentation, Jalgua Peace Festival. The Jalgua Peace Festival is a collaboration with globally-recognized Peace Ambassador, Emmanuel Jal and AYC (answeryourcalling.ca). Habitat for Humanity Prince Edward Hastings was quick to step into action by furnishing the BIPOC+ Peace Pavilion and sponsoring the labour and cost of transporting furniture and home decor before & after the festival.
Home Depot responded promptly with so much warmth. They invested a generator and lights to power our evening. Belleville Community Police took initiative to step up as a financial sponsor and volunteered to help design the Peace Pavilion's atmosphere.
The City of Belleville, via the Belleville Waterfront & Multicultural Festival and the Belleville Chamber of Commerce were key sponsors who facilitated the management of costs and labour associated with festival management including staff, permits, security, licenses, stage/sound equipment set up, material, and the like.
Staples, thank you for covering the costs of some of our print needs in February in 2023 & 2024, your commitment to supporting our labour is appreciated. Belleville Starbucks, Independent, and Metro, we thank you for sponsoring the cost of refreshments during Black History Month 2023. The Smokin' Bistro 116 thank you donating space in your cafe and board rooms for private QCIC events in 2024. Belleville Library, thank you for hosting local Author and Academic, Dr. Eleanor Wint.
Business Professional Women Hastings & Prince Edward (BPW H&PE), you are financial sponsors and Community Advocate who've committed to allyship and sisterhood with QCIC. Thank you for your advocacy on our behalf to successfully motion the City of Quinte West to make an official proclamation declaring February as Black History Month, for the first time in 2024. The City's proclamation was reviewed and approved by our Elder and Academic, Dr. Eleanor Wint.
Our recent partnerships with the Algonquin Lakeshore Catholic District School Board (ALCDSB) and Hastings Prince Edward District School Board (HPEDSB) is exciting. We look forward to sharing the action taken by the respective school boards in our region to prioritize Equity and Inclusion to foster organic Diversity.
DEEPEST GRATITUDE TO THE
